Artist Statement

"Japanese Wild Garden" represents a cross-cultural dialogue between Eastern aesthetic principles and contemporary digital printmaking techniques. This piece explores the concept of "mono no aware" - the bittersweet awareness of the impermanence of all things.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese woodblock prints and garden design philosophy, I've created a digital composition that honors the asymmetrical balance and natural flow found in classical Eastern art while incorporating modern surrealist elements that speak to contemporary anxieties and dreams.

The work questions the boundaries between the cultivated and the wild, the traditional and the contemporary, inviting viewers to consider how cultural aesthetics transcend time and geography to address universal human experiences of beauty, transience, and our relationship with the natural world.
